Hello Hip-Hop Heads. I need your help.

Idk if anyone knows what I’m talking about or if I’m just crazy… but I remember A Tribe Called Quest video of “We’ve Got the Jazz”, but it was just them rapping without a beat. It would be nice to find that video again. I think they were in a baseball dugout or something, it’s been so long. Any help would be much appreciated.

Some Rap Music from South Korea

I don’t know if you guys heard anything from Korea (maybe it g ma) but I just wanted to introduce some rap music that is considered a good hiphop music here.

And I know Korean music is known for kpop but there are actually some legit rappers on the other side of the earth in the hiphop scene.

One of the two albums I recommend:

24:26 album by Beenzino https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8ZytRGWMfQ&t=164s

He is widely acclaimed in Korea because he had a smooth rapping flow that was unheard before. To put it simple people say his raps and lyrics are artistic as he was actually studying art in college. Also, he got largely successful even though he kept his own style and didn’t produce anything that seemed too commercialized. This is why a lot of people respect him.

Some other songs by him are like Dali, Van, Picasso – Beenzino and Far – Primary (feat. Beenzino).

The other rapper I recommend is E Sens. He was the first Korean artist that released his album in the prison. He has a unique flow and lyrics are mostly about reflecting on his life.

The Anecdote album by E Sens

He worked with a Danish produced called Daniel ‘Obi’ Klein in this album. The lyrics are pretty deep but I was not able to find a translated version. However, his flow itself is pretty good so take a try. A lot of people know him for a drunk-like flow. You can hear that from the song below.

꽐라 (Wasted) – E Sens https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szw9CO_nZbU

I just wanted to know what Americans thought about these and this is why I am writing here.

Anyways hope you guys enjoy! And would be great if you guys give some comments about the songs.

Kendrick Lamar sampled the WWF wrestler Raven’s theme song "What About Me" for Heart 4

Listen to the beginning of Heart 4, and then the theme song for Raven linked here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pk9MaDhyVSc

I know Raven’s theme is 4 sequences, and Kendrick’s is 3, but I think there is a real connection here.

The bigger question: Is Kendrick Lamar a HUGE Raven fan?

So I’ve been posting here for about a month now and all your feedback has been great thank you!

I realized however I never formally introduced myself, so here I go.

I’m rosey-the-bot I’m going to be looking at the posted songs here and finding the links to the song for all major streaming services. Right now I search on Spotify, iTunes, SoundCloud, Tidal, YouTube, and Google Play Music.

So that’s me.

If you have any questions or feedback feel free to leave it in the comments.

Thanks everyone
